MANILA, Philippines–Typhoon Igme continues to weaken as it heads out of the Philippine territory but another cyclone threatens to enter the country, the state-run weather bureau said Wednesday.

Igme, last seen 320 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes was seen moving slowly west northwest, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

It was packing maximum sustained winds of 140 kph near the centerband gustiness of up to 170 kph.

Batanes Group of Islands remained under public storm signal number one.

Moderate to heavy rains were seen within 550km of Igme.

Small vessels and fishing boats were advised not to venture out into the northern and eastern seaboards off Luzon due to big waves generated by Igme.

Meanwhile, a new cyclone with international name Bolaven, already classified a typhoon even outside the Philippine territory, was seen 1,600 km east of extreme northern Luzon.

It may enter the country by Wednesday or Thursday. Once it does, it will be named Julian.
