Arroyo doctor’s diagnosis not Makati Med’s

Makati Medical Center corporate communications head Marc Funelas on Saturday sent a text message to the Philippine Daily Inquirer saying that Dr. Roberto V. Anastacio’s remarks on the health condition of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in a press conference  on Friday “were not MMC’s statement.”

Funelas said that the press conference was held at the Dome Cafe behind the hospital and not at the MMC.

A short statement from the MMC Patient Relations Office further clarified that:

“The interview and press statement, and its subsequent release, that took place yesterday (Friday) afternoon at Dome Cafe  on Dela Rosa St., Makati City regarding Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s health condition came from Dr. Roberto V. Anastacio, reflective of his official function as her attending physician.

“This clarifies the confusion stemming from the media regarding the source of such information.”
