BABY FOUND BY THE ROAD
WRAPPED in a colorful floral blouse, a baby boy was found abandoned in a small stall in barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City.
Believed to be two to three weeks old, the baby was found by 26-year-old Jimmy Generalao, who was walking home on Fatima Street when he heard a baby crying at 3 a.m. yesterday.
Generalao found the boy on the ground inside an open stall which served as a cell phone loading station.
The baby was clad in a white pair of pajamas, white baby clothes and baby gloves.
Generalao brought the baby to the Duljo-Fatima barangay hall.
Barangay workers then brought the baby boy to the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) where he underwent complete blood count (CBC) test.
Dr. Gloria Duterte, head of the CCMC said the boy was a “well.”
“The baby boy has a normal condition,” said Duterte.

WOMAN FOUND DEAD
THE wife of a councilman was found dead in an apparent case of suicide in barangay Gawi, Oslob town, southern Cebu.
Police said Emily Lacuña, 42, was found in a kneeling position inside her sari-sari store around 7 a.m. yesterday. A blanket was tied around the woman’s neck and the other end tied to a beam.
Police said it was Emily’s 15-year-old son Bobby who discovered her body.
Police said last Monday night, Emily had a fight with her husband Guillermo when the man did not feed their goats.
Police said the couple would usually sleep at the sari-sari store in front of their house but Guillermo decided to sleep in their house because of the fight.
Police said Bobby went to the store to wake up his mother to prepare breakfast.
Bobby peeped on the locked bamboo door of the sari-sari store and thought his mother was just sleeping.
Booby called his mother but she did not respond that prompted to call his uncle.
The uncle forced open the the door and found out that Emily was already dead.
Police said there were no signs of foul play.
PO1 Lynde Medina of the Oslob police said a background check revealed that Emily had tried to commit suicide twice in the past by hitting her head on the wall./REPORTER RHEA RUTH V. ROSELL
