Centro Escolar University to set up Cebu campus

A MANILA-BASED school is expanding to Cebu and will construct its building along Jones Avenue this city.

The Cebu campus will be Centro Escolar University’s (CEU) fourth campus, the other three being in Manila, Makati City and Malolos, Bulacan.

Established in 1907 initially as the “Centro Escolar de Senoritas,” CEU is a co-educational institution with over 50 academic programs among which are dentistry, optometry, pharmacy, nursing, medical technology, nutrition and hospitality management, education, accountancy and management, and graduate school.

Because it has the latest in learning equipment and technology, CEU is the constant partner of the Philippine Regulations Commission in the practical component of the licensure exams in dentistry and optometry.

CEU lays claim to the distinction as the only higher education institution to have five institutional awards for quality: Institutional Accreditation from the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines, Companies Circle from the Institute of Corporate Directors, Philippine Quality Award for Proficiency in Quality Management from the Department of Trade and Industry, ISO 9001 Systems Certification from SGS, and Full Autonomy Status from the Commission on Higher Education.

Now present in Cebu through its Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) programs, it will unfold its three initial offerings next month and October  “Total Quality Management: Raising the Bar of Excellence” on Sept. 21 and 22; “The Art of Managing Philippine Tourism Destinations” from Oct. 11 to 13; and “Authentic Assessment of Clinical Competencies” on Oct. 16 and 17. Venue is Jose Martinez Building, Jones Avenue.
