Metro Manila rainfall warning downgraded to yellow

By

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) downgraded the rainfall alert warning to yellow over parts of Metro Manila on Wednesday evening.

The alert warning issued at 6:50 p.m. warned of light to moderate (2.5-7.0 mm/hr) rains with occasional moderate to heavy (8.0-15.0 mm/hr) rains over Quezon City, Marikina, Manila, Pasig and other nearby areas within the next two hours.

The public was again warned of possible flood and landslide in high risk areas and were advised to take necessary precaution against possible accidents.

Meanwhile, Pagasa recorded heavy to intense rainfall (15.0-27.0 mm/hr) over Quezon City and Marikina early Wednesday night. Likewise, moderate to heavy rainfall (8.0-12.0 mm/hr) was noted down over Manila and Pasig while light to moderate rainfall (1.0-7.0 mm/hr) was experienced over the rest of Metro Manila, Pagasa said.

The red alert warning was raised over parts of Metro Manila Wednesday afternoon when heavy rains once again poured over the metropolis and nearby areas.
