IBP-B, Bhutakalz forge title duel in Wednesday Club basketball

POWERHOUSE IBP-B dismantled IBP-Gwapo, 91-79, Wednesday night to advance to the final round in the Wednesday Club-2012 basketball tournament at the Capitol Parish gym.

IBP-B will battle Bhutakalz, which claimed the other championship berth after shocking favored PICPA, 71-69, in the winner-take-all finale this Wednesday.

IBP-Gwapo ruled the half with a slim, 44-42 lead behind Giovani Sususo and Milky Villamor. But IBP-B responded with a, 26-17 rally to head to the final quarter with a, 68-62, advantage.

In the fourth period, IBP-B stretched its lead to 12 points for the crushing win.

Meanwhile, in the main game, PICPA led in the first three periods and posted its biggest lead of, 56-43 at the end of the third. But the fourth quarter was an all-Bhutakalz show as it unloaded a blistering, 28-14 run to win.

Deo Alvios led Bhutakalz with 25 points on top of six trifectas while Ban Talaroc and Ryan Alejandre paced PICPA with 16 and 12 points, respectively.
