Flirting proves fatal to security guardPhilippine Daily Inquirer
A security guard who was enjoying a few drinks before going home was stabbed dead by five men who were irked by his attempts to catch the eye of their female friend.
Anthony Paje, an employee of JFBI Security Agency, was declared dead on arrival at Dr. Jose Delgado Memorial Hospital in Quezon City Tuesday morning.
Case investigator Senior Police Officer 1 Joselito Gagaza of the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit said the attack happened around 2:30 a.m. near a convenience store at the corner of Tomas Morato Avenue and Scout Fuentebella in Barangay Laging Handa, Quezon City.
Paje, a resident of Barangay Obrero, was having drinks with two other security guards inside the store while six men and a woman were at another table.
A witness said that Paje tried to flirt with the suspects’ female companion, a move that apparently did not sit well with the other members of the group.
As Paje and his friends left the convenience store, five of the men attacked him and stabbed him several times before escaping. Julie M. Aurelio
