Armed man nabbed after Paknaan chase
Cebu Daily NewsAN ARMED young man was arrested after a brief chase by police along the Cansaga Bay Bridge in Zone Paliya in barangay Paknaan, Mandaue yesterday.
Charlo Cuyos, 18, of barangay Tayud, Liloan town in northern Cebu was arrested after he was cornered and caught with an unlicensed gun. His two companions escaped.
Police said the chase started when a police in a patrol car tried to stop three men on a motorcycle, who was traveling in a zigzag manner.
When police told them to stop, the men instead sped off. The police in a patrol car gave chase. The pursued men abandoned their motorcycle in barangay Paknaan and fled in different directions on foot.
Cuyos, who was drunk, was cornered and was caught carrying a .38 caliber revolver with three bullets.
Police are still looking for his companions – motorcycle driver, whom Cuyos identified as Mark Anthony Lopez and another unidentified companion.
Cuyos was detained at the Basak police station pending the filing of charges./Correspondent Norman V. Mendoza
