MANILA, Philippines—Newly promoted Police director Alan La Madrid Purisima expressed gratitude for his promotion to two-star general, he said in a statement on Wednesday.
“This is indeed another achievement. I thank everyone who inspired and believed in me,” Purisima said. He added that his promotion “is not another decoration in my uniform, but another challenge and responsibility that I should work hard for.”
Purisima received his promotion, and was sworn in by PNP Police Chief Raul Bacalzo on Monday at the PNP Headquarters in Camp Crame. He was given an Arrival of Honors, as well as a reception by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Tuesday.
Purisima’s strong academic and professional background has earned him extensive local and international accolades. At the same time, his dedication and years of police service have reaped for him awards and commendations of various nature, said Police Senior Superintendent Dionardo Carlos.
