PROMISED A JOB
MARCRIS Ybañez sat on a chair breastfeeding her baby while waiting for Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama to arrive in his office last Thursday.
The mayor promised her a job in City Hall.
“I was already here last Monday and I met the mayor and told me that I should come back here Thursda,” she said.
Marcris was accompanied by live-in partner Gail Gonzaga who earns a living by driving a trisikad.
“I won’t apply for a job here since I am okay with sikad-sikad, but I hope my partner gets a job,” he said.
Rama yesterday assured that a job will be given to Marcris.
City Administrator Jose Marie Poblete said he has not received an endorsement for Marcris yet.
“But it could also be possible that the endorsement has been sent directly to HRDO,” he said.
Rama, however, denied sending an endorsement to the human resources office.

USURPATION HEARING RESET
THE lawyers of Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia will file with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) next week a motion to reset hearings of the usurpation case that the late governor Gregorio Sanchez Jr filed against her.
Lawyer Rory Jon Sepulveda said their lead counsel Christina Codilla- Frasco will be out of the country once the hearing resumes July 25.
The eldest daughter of the late vice governor Gregorio Sanchez Jr. Grecylda “Gigi” Sanchez- Zaballero received a telegram from the DILG last July 6 informing her of the continuation of the formal investigation.
The marathon hearing is set to resume on July 25, 26, 27, and 28 at the DILG- 7 office. /Correspondent Carmel Loise Matus
‘SUE DOCTOR’
THE family of Genelie Jayme was invited to go to the Jagobiao Barangay Hall in Mandaue City to help file a complaint against the doctor-in-charge who didn’t treat them well.
Mother of Jayme, Jacinta Bentulan, 52, told Cebu Daily News the barangay secretary Manuel Villaflor assured them that the barangay will assist them if they decide to file a formal complaint against Dr. Emily Apas.
But they are still hesitant about the filing of formal complaint since they don’t have money and she is just an elementary graduate.
Jayme on the other hand said that she’s already feeling well after the miscarriage of her two-month-old baby. The cause of her miscarriage may have been her household chores since her husband, Soriano, 37, goes to work as a security guard. /Reporter Jucell Marie P. Cuyos
