YAWYAN Ardigma CEO Master Benigno “Ekin” Caniga Jr. said this Saturday’s bouts in the Ground and Pound VI at the Cebu Coliseum will all be worth watching.

In the event’s final press conference at Willo’s Sports Bar along A.S Fortuna Street in Mandaue City, Caniga showed off some of the fighters who will be competing in the fight card dubbed “Invincible.”

“I promise all of you that there will be knockouts because we are pitting veteran MMA fighters,” said Caniga. “It’s going to be a war.”

“Everyone must not blink because this is going to be a war. I assure you that this will not reach five rounds,” said Yamit.

Yamit sports a record of seven wins, three losses with five knockout victories. He will be fighting for the second time in Cebu. He is a Universal Reality Combat Championships (URCC) veteran who lost to Cebuano Vaughn “Spawn” Donaire in a fight here in Cebu last 2011. After that, he went on a two-bout win streak in fights in Bukidnon and Bicol, respectively.

Araneta, meanwhile, said he is well prepared for his duel with Yamit. “I am very excited because I will be facing a URCC veteran,” said Araneta, who holds a record of five wins and two losses. “I will do my best to win the title at stake.”

Also present during the press conference were other fighters who will be competing in the fight card such as Renante “Limbas” Noblefranca from Yawyan Ardigma, Durex Dragon’s Johnjier “The Dangerous” Torbiso, Rocky Tune “Outlaw” Batolbatol of Mindanao United MMA, SOMA Kick Boxing club founder Allan Epile, Durex Dragons’ founder Ben Torbiso, Romelo “Mad Dog” Esfra of Arcomjukai, Jonathan “Mata de Leo” Esquerdo of MUMMA Cagayan De Oro City and Willo’s Bar owner Emily Wilson.

In the main supporting bout, Noblefranca faces Steve “Lightning” Sevilleno in their rematch for the Yawyan Fighting Challenge bantamweight title. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
