Osada, Uybengkee win Bowler of Month titles
MAKOTO Osada and Billy Uybengkee were named the top bowlers for the months of May and June after they took the top two places in last weekend’s Bowler of the Month Tournament of the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (CETBA) at the SM City Cebu Bowling Center.
Osada, a senior kegler of CETBA finished the six-game tournament with a total of 1,213 pinfalls capped by a 244 output in the second game.
Uybengkee for his part, downed 1,186 pinfalls including a 201 pinfalls in the third game.
Vivian Padawan placed third with 1,158 pinfalls followed by Ronan Barredo in fourth spot with 1,152 pinfalls.
Rounding out the top 10 were Baby Bacon (6th 1,144), Ruel Zuniga (7th 1,142), Armando Despojo (8th 1,130), Tess Regino (9th 1,129) and CETBA president Engr. Gretchen Tormis (10th 1,105).
Meanwhile, Padawan topped the CETBA Friday Group Masters event with 917 pinfalls while Nestor Longcanaya ruled the men’s side with 924 pinfalls.
A total of 30 of CETBA’s best bowlers competed in the monthly bowling tournament. Each bowler of the month automatically gets a slot ot the Bowler of the Year tournament this December. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
