Winning lotto prize of P25M turns skeptic trader into instant believer

It took 25 million reasons to change the mind of a man who did not believe that anyone could win the lotto jackpot.

After placing a bet on the urging of his sibling, a junk trader ended up winning the SuperLotto  6/49 prize of P25.15 million on July 1 after he guessed the winning number combination of 01-07-15-21-25-40.

“I really didn’t believe that people won millions in the lottery,” Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II quoted the winner as telling him when he claimed his prize last week. I never tried placing a bet until recently,” he added.

The man, who is married with three children, said his sibling had always urged him to place a bet and he finally did, just to prove that nobody ever wins—a point he lost when he hit the jackpot.

“Until now, I can’t believe that I won,” the 36-year-old man told Rojas.
