Sports Development Program of Talisay expanded by district
Cebu Daily NewsTHE FOURTH edition of the Talisay City Sports Development Program will expand to a district-wide competition involving private and public schools starting Aug. 12 in different venues.
“We decided to make it district wide from inter-school to allow more participation from public and private schools of Talisay City,” said Talisay City Sports Commission executive Jeanette Villagonzalo of the annual sporting meet that features basketball and volleyball tournaments.
Out of this tournament, the Talisay City Sports Commission hopes to select a lineup which it can use in the regional competitions such as the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA).
The competition will be divided into three districts, with each district featuring public and private schools covered in its area.
The Sisters of Mary and the Lawaan National High school will defend their title in the girls and boys volleyball tournament, respectively. Lagtang National High School is the defending champion in basketball. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
