MRT-3 operations disrupted by Edsa-Ortigas bus fire

MANILA, Philippines – Metro Rail Transit (MRT-3) operations were delayed Friday evening due to a bus fire along the Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (Edsa) Ortigas flyover.

The MRT-3 reported the delays as of 6:30 p.m.

“Firefighters are on site and responding to the incident, while MRT-3 personnel are on mainline assessing any impact on operations,” the MRT-3 said.

In a separate post, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority reported a bus caught fire at the southbound lane of the Edsa-Ortigas flyover southbound at around 6:10 p.m.

Motorists were told to take alternate routes as two lanes are temporarily closed.  /gsg
