Salimbangon wrests away golfer of the year award in Business in Golf tilt

FREDDIE Salimbangon was named golfer of the year after last Friday’s 19th Business in Golf Tournament at the Cebu Country Club.

Salimbangon won the award after he netted 45 points in the one-day tournament.

Kiddy Limchao Jr. clinched the lowest gross points title with his 37, while Patricio Go had the lowest net points via a countback over Jojo Alquizola. He netted 46 points.

The Rajah Park Team wrested the championship title from the Fagioli Team via a countback after both teams accumulated a total of 156 points.

Combining points for Rajah Park were Nonoy Tirol, Robin Craze, Alvin Garcia and Ricky Brown.

Fagioli was manned by Lito Guttierez, Edel Pasumbal, Sircross Abarientos and Emmy Tesalona.

Rounding up the top 3 was the Mitsubishi Team, who was just a point behind with a total of 155. The team had in its lineup Raul Mabanto, Allan Osorio, Carlo Magno and Ben Dapat.

Jan-jan Ybanez was also recognized for having the longest drive in hole no. 8.  /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
