THREE sporting events will highlight the two-day outdoor event of the Recreational Outdoor Exchange (ROX) on July 21 and 22 in two venues here in Cebu.

The three events will be a trail run, kayaking and bicycle fun ride. Aside from these, organizers also plan to stage a yoga session during the event.

The bike fun ride is a 10-kilometer ride to be held on the first day courtesy of Columbia Outdoor Sports.

The bike ride will be followed by the yoga session at the Ayala Center Cebu. It will be handled by the Zem Minimalist footwear.

The trail run will be held on the second day in Liloan town, northern Cebu.

The 10 to 12-kilometer run won’t be the typical train run as participants will be made to go through a mud crawl, cargo net climb and rope rapelling.

The kayaking, meanwhile, will be held at the Papa Kits water sports also in Liloan.

The event was launched yesterday at the Laguna Garden Cafe at the Ayala Terraces spearheaded by ROX’s Melo Dumaog, Philippine Adventure Consultant’s Ralph Pilapil, Larry Honoridez, Habagat Outdoors’ Eduard Solana and Alan Salazar, and Jean Torrefrance of the Surya Nanda Yoga.

“We are planning to make this an annual event,” said Dumaog. “But it depends on the outcome. We are to add more sports events and make it bigger next year.”
