A security officer of a racing club who was accused of raping a female colleague was arrested by members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Thursday.
CIDG agents went to the office of the Manila Jockey Club at Ortigas Center in Pasig City to serve a warrant issued by Judge Antonio Reyes of Pasig regional trial court Branch 71 for the arrest of Michael Angelo Rearte.
Rearte was accused of raping a club employee on Dec. 5, 2011, after a party at Eastwood City Mall in Quezon City.
The accused has denied the charge, but admitted taking the woman to a motel, supposedly with her consent.
The woman has resigned from the club, claiming that nothing had come out of the complaint she filed, a source who requested anonymity said.
