Bostolits, SURAN triumph

TEAM Bostolits Grace routed OYAB, the political slogan of Osmeña, Young and Abellanosa, 118-92 last Sunday while SURAN beat Dorothy Grace, 103-97, in overtime at the start of the Upper Bayanihan Catholic Association (UBCA) Basketball Camp-2012 basketball tournament at the Quiot Sports Complex.

Bostolits led, 29-23, in the first quarter with 3-point artist Toly Petiluna scoring 12 points all from beyond the arc, then padded its lead to 28 points after three quarters, 93-65, before settling with the 26-point rout.

Petiluna led Bostolits Grace with 27 points spiked by eight triples while high-leaping center Roger Quitoy added 16 markers.

Niño Dela Cruz and Eko Cañete paced the losing OYAB with 24 and 16 points, respectively.

In the other game, SURAN shocked highly-favored Dorothy Grace with former SIT slotman Jun Sumargo sinking one of his two freethrows in the dying seconds of regulation that tied the count at 91-all sending the game into overtime.

In the extension period, SURAN held Dorothy Grace to jus six points while scoring 12 markers to post the 6-point win.

Jun Pahamutang powered SURAN with a game-high 20 points, while Ace Dela Cerna and Junjie Hugo combined for 29 markers.

Roy Abacajan and Jun Sumargo paced Dorothy Grace with 29 and 15 points, respectively.
