RAFI presents Run 2 Plant during Bosconians meeting

THE Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. presented the results of Run 2 Plant 4 Greenin Philippines Season 1 and what to expect in season 2 during the fifth general membership meeting of Bosconian International Chamber of Commerce (BICC) Cebu last June 6 at the Cebu Grand Hotel.

Rowena Alensonorin, executive director of RAFI’s Integrated Development Unit, reported that last year, the total number of participants and seedlings planted were beyond its target.  Last year’s activity gathered 55,372 participants from 48 towns and cities of Cebu who planted 239,580 native trees in 115 hectares.

The BICC Cebu, in partnership with RAFI and the municipality of Argao headed by Mayor Edsel Galeos, also a Bosconian, were able to plant 5,000 seedlings in two locations.

The BICC Cebu signed an agreement with RAFI to support its Greening Philippines program.

The Run 2 Plant will be held on June 30.  On this day, the BICC Cebu will visit Argao to do its planting activity.
