The Office of Civil Defense in Region 12 has deployed personnel to rescue affected families, it added.

A shallow low pressure area was spotted 100 kilometers south of Mindanao, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration.

The weather system will bring mostly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers over Mindanao particularly in Southern Mindanao and Zamboanga provinces, it said.

Waterways most likely to be affected are rivers, streams and tributaries in North Cotabato, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat and South Cotabato, the NDRRMC said.
