FORTUNA SIGNS UP AS ADVISOR
FORMER Mandaue City Vice Mayor Carlo Fortuna signed a six-month consultancy contract as advisor on legislative affairs for Mayor Jonas Cortes.
Fortuna will also be tasked to review services, pre-investment and feasibility studies, design, construction supervision management and related services pertaining to legislation.
Fortuna earlier quit as consultant of Mayor Cortes last year after disagreeing with the terms of the contract.
The former vice mayor said he is open to political alliances with the Cortes administration.

MANDAUE STUDENTS NEED CHAIRS
More than 200 students of Tingub National High School in Mandaue City need school chairs after school opened last week.
While they await the chairs from other public schools and the division office of the Department of Education (DepEd), these students make do with mono bloc chairs the school borrowed from the barangay hall.
Jovelyn Aquilla, guidance counselor and advisor of the school’s first year class they’ve been accepting enrollees this year due to the ongoing construction of six school buildings which are expected to be completed within the year.
Aquilla said some students in the barangay attend classes in the adjacent barangay until such time that they can buy their own uniforms and transfer to the Tingub National High School.
Aquilla said they need to build a perimeter fence and have sent their request to the barangay and the City Engineering Office. Correspondent Norman V. Mendoza
