Blue, Green win tune-up games in Customs hoop
BLUE and Green trounced separate rivals in their tune-up games in preparation for the upcoming semifinal round of the Customs 3rd Major Alfonso Abbariao Cup-2012 Biggest Loser basketball tournament at the Basak San Nicolas gym.
The younger Alin Brokerage cagers took a single-digit lead in the opening half behind Israel Alin, Ryan Barral and Edwin Estorgio but Blue responded with a, 23-17 rally in the third to grab a 2-point lead, 55-53, going to the final quarter.
Blue then outscored Alin Brokerage, 14-8 in the fourth for the final, 69-61 count.
Rizan Herbito led Blue with a game-high 28 points while Israel Alin and Ryan Barral scored 16 and 15 points, respectively for Alin Brokerage.
Meanwhile, Green led from start to finish to crush International Port Users, 84-77 with Noel Medalle and Lester Gabica scoring 18 and 17 points, respectively. Taks Moral paced the losing International Port Users with 20 markers.
