MANILA, Philippines – Majority accept the Senate decision to convict Chief Justice Renato Corona, according to a recently concluded INQUIRER.net survey.

To the poll question “Do you think the people will accept the Senate verdict on the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona,” 2,817, or 90 percent of the total 3130 respondents said “yes”, while only 313 or 10 percent voted “no”.

Corona was convicted Tuesday on charges of culpable violation of the Constitution and betrayal of public trust for not disclosing $2.4 million and P80 million in his statement of assets, liabilities, and net worth (SALN).
