Jimeno: Cuevas used to scold defense lawyers during trial

MANILA, Philippines – Lawyer Karen Jimeno said in an interview with Radyo Inquirer 990 AM Thursday that retired associate justice Serafin Cuevas used to scold and reprimand the other members of the defense panel over conflicting opinions during the impeachment trial.

She said that all the lawyers of the defense panel had different styles and were also very assertive which made the clashing of opinions a frequent occurrence.

Jimeno also remembered the several times when she was hospitalized sparking rumors that she had left the defense team.

Jimeno was a spokesperson for the defense team of former Chief Justice Renato Corona during his impeachment trial.
