MANILA, Philippines — At least four people were confirmed killed in the fire that gutted a residential block in Makati City early Wednesday, a fire official said.
The victims were not identified.
Senior Fire Office 1 Juan de Guzman said the fire along Kalayaan Street, Barangay (village) Singkamas started at 4:58 a.m. and reached Task Force Charlie before it was completely put out at 7:30 a.m.
De Guzman said that blaze spread through houses rapidly because of their closeness to each other.
