MANILA, Philippines— Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Thursday said pro-Corona propagandists were possibly behind the alleged demolition job against him and the Senate.

Speaking before the media during the Kapihan sa Senado, Trillanes said the allegations that he owns units at Twin Oaks Condominium in Mandaluyong City were probably part of a “well-funded” propaganda against him.

“Ito ay PR operation by political enemies. Palagay ko ‘yung mga pro-Corona groups o nakabangga natin sa pulitika (This is a PR operation by our political enemies. I think it’s the pro-Corona groups),” Trillanes said.

“It’s a well-funded operation,” he added.

Trillanes has continuously denied owning any condominium units that were not declared on his statement of assets, liabilities and net worth. He also reiterated his challenge against critics saying he is willing to personally accompany them to the real-estate developers of Twin Oaks to verify he does not have units in their property.

“Kung gusto nila isasama ko pa sila dun sa tinitirahan ko ngayon (If they want, I am willing to accompany them to where I live now),” Trillanes said.

He added this is possibly related to the ongoing impeachment trial. However, Trillanes said this will not affect his vote on the ongoing trial against Chief Justice Renato Corona.

Corona vs Senate

“I will not take it against the chief justice. Anyway, hindi naman niya na ako ma-swing,” Trillanes said adding he believed that Corona is not the one funding for demolition jobs against the Senate, which is sitting as the impeachment court.

Trillanes admitted he felt the blind items of radio anchors Arnold Clavio and Deo Macalma on their separate radio programs were pertaining to him.

He said he responded to the blind items since he did not want this to affect his re-election bid for the 2013 elections.
