One of the top life insurance firms in the Philippines is opening another office in Cebu City to become closer and more in touch with its customers in Cebu and the Visayas.

The new branch is “more visible, more customer-friendly” and a  “perfect fit,” said BJ Legaspi, Zone three (Visayas) regional head of Axa Philippines.

Legaspi described the location of the new office as more recognizable to the public since a volume of commuters pass by the area as compared to the first Cebu branch at the Cebu Business Park.

Part of “redefining” life insurance is the design of their new office where customers get a “more relaxed” environment, said Legaspi, since the business office is separately located in the second floor while the client’s lounge is at the ground floor.

Chief Agency Officer Rahul Hora said “Cebu is extremely important to us as next to Manila, Cebu is the business hub.”

Hora added distribution channel expansion is part of their efforts not only to promote their products but also “to reach out” and provide “access” to the customers.

Part of “reaching out” is to train their financial advisors to provide the right product by asking questions that lead to identifying what is needed by the client.

Hora added “rather than trying the old style, we take the customers to a series of questions” in order for the customer to “clearly understand the insurance.”

Axa Philippines is doing well in Cebu with at least 12 percent  share of total clients in the country, said president and chief executive officer  (CEO) Rien Hermans.

But he emphasized the need to constantly do better.

“We have to continue improving our customer satisfaction,” said Hermans.

According to Axa Philippines, the firm was included in the the Top 1000 firms in the Philippines by Businessworld last year.  It’s also one of the firms of the Metrobank Group. /Correspondent Jessa Chrisna Marie J. Agua
