MANILA, Philippines—Seventeen senators, sitting as judges, showed up on Day 36 of the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona.
Senate President Juan Ponce-Enrile, who presides over the trial, banged the gavel to signal the opening of the proceeding a little past 2 p.m. Tuesday.
