MANILA, Philippines — Twenty members of the women’s group Gabriela held a rally  in front of the Department of Foreign Affairs Thursday morning to protest the release of  a Panamanian, who has been accused of rape by a 19-year-old Filipino woman.

Gabriela is demanding justice for the 19-year-old after the Panamanian man was ordered freed by a Makati court when the DFA certified his diplomatic immunity.

In several TV interviews where her face was not shown, the young woman said the Panamanian forced himself onto her after their dinner date.
