UP Cebu bares summer workshops for kids, teens
GLUED to computer and video games the whole summer? Want to change the old routine and explore the world of art?
The University of the Philippines Cebu (UP Cebu) Fine Arts Students Organization (FASO) is inviting children 4 years old and above to join its 27th annual summer art workshop from April 16 to May 11.
Courses include art appreciation, art and design, advanced drawing, painting and children’s theater and the teen’s theater.
Art appreciation is for children 4 to 6 years old, painting and advanced drawing for 12 years old and above, art and design class A for children 7 to 9 years old, art and design class B for 7 to 12 years old, children’s theater for kids four-nine years old and teen’s theater for aged 10 to 16 years old.
A new addition to the workshop, the Theater Arts workshop, will expose the participants to basic acting, improvisation, creative movements and the rudiments in mounting a production, said humanities professor Ligaya Rabago-Visaya.
“This workshop will promote the value of teamwork, cooperation, trust and confidence,” she said.
Facilitators of the workshop are Humanities professors, FASO members and Upstage, UP Cebu’s theater group.
Enrollment is going on until April 20.
For a fee of P2,000, students are assured of a fun-filled and worthwhile experience.
Classes will be held at the undergraduate building of UP Cebu in Lahug, Cebu City.
