Storm forces cancellation of 38 domestic flights

MANILA, Philippines—A total of 38 domestic flights were canceled Thursday due to bad weather brought on by Tropical Storm Falcon, according to the Manila International Airport Authority.

The canceled flights were to have emanated from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s Terminals 2, 3 and 4 (the old Manila Domestic Airport).

Twenty-eight of the flights involved Cebu Pacific aircraft, the MIAA said.

They were: 5J 325 and 5J 325, Manila to Legazpi City and back; 5J 891 and 5J 892, Manila to Caticlan, Aklan and back; 5J 711 and 5J 712, Manila to Catarman, Northern Samar and back; 5J 521 and 5J 522, Manila to Naga City and back; 5J 767 and 5J 768, Manila to Surigao City and back; 5J 893 and 5J 894, Manila to Caticlan and back; 5J 895 and 5J 898, Manila to Caticlan and back; 5J 913 and 5J 914, Manila to Caticlan and back; 5J897 and 5J 896, Manila to Caticlan and back; 5J 508 and 5J 509, Manila to Tuguegarao, Cagayan and back; 5J 327 and 5J 328, Manila to Legazpi City and back; 5J 899 and 5J 900, Manila to Caticlan and back; 5J 523 and 5J 524, Manila to Naga City and back; and 5J 901 and 5J 902, Manila to Caticlan and back.

Six flights Air Philippines flights were also canceled: 2P925 and 2P926, Manila to Legazpi City and back; 2P 265 and 2P 266, Manila to Naga City and back; and 2P 014 and 2P 015, Manila to Tuguegarao and back.

Only two flights of Philippine Airlines, the country’s flag carrier, were canceled. They were PR 277 and PR 278, flights to Legazpi City and back.

Two Zest Air flights —Z2 210 and Z2 221, Manila to Legazpi City and back—were also canceled.

Both Cebu Pacific and Air Philippines are based at NAIA Terminal 3.

PAL flights emanate from Terminal 2, also called the Centennial Terminal, while Zest Air operates from Terminal 4, also known as the old Manila Domestic Airport.
