MANIILA, Philippines — Except for isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly over the eastern section, the whole country will experience partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies Maundy Thursday, state forecasters said.

Warm weather is also expected across Northern Luzon due to a ridge of a high pressure area, or fewer clouds, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds blowing from the east to southeast will prevail over extreme northern Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast to east with slight to moderate seas.

PAGASA ay wala nang pagasa. Puro contra partida ang nangyayari. Kung sasabihin ng PAGASA na maulan, sigurado, magiging mainit. Kung mainit ang sasabihin ng PAGASA, siguradong uulan. He hehe. Sayang ang budget ng PAGASA. The most useless and inutil branch of our government. It is time to stop getting “Opinions” from them. The probability of what they are saying is nil.

Weather forecasting in the Philippines is very antiquated and poorly equipped to accurately forecast localized weather condition. Here in S. Florida, major newspaper websites in its weather section are linked to a local radar in Miami that provides current radar display. This local radar overlaps with another in Key West that covers south of Miami and another in Orlando area/Cape Kennedy radar that covers north of Miami. All over the state of Florida a series of overlapping local radar of the national weather bureau with a 400 mile radius provides current radar displays. These are accessible to the public in the internet thru the weather bureau, major local newspapers, local television stations and weather channel websites. This radar weather set up is duplicated in each state through-out the the USA and backed-up and enhanced with satellite weather radars which covers bigger area strategically positioned in space to cover the whole nation and its surrounding territorial waters. And in addition to those civilian weather bureau is the military weather satellites system that are restricted only to authorized users and that almost covers the entire planet.
