The House ways and means committee will hold a special hearing on Monday to get the Bureau of Internal Revenue’s (BIR) clarification on its aborted closure order against Megaworld Corp.

Albay Rep. Joey Salceda, the panel’s chair, said he had yet to hear from the BIR on the issue, which he said “could have been resolved internally.”

“Releases such as the closure order should not have been made public without a unified BIR agency position. I still haven’t seen one. To clarify things, I am calling for a special committee hearing on this matter on Monday,” he said.
