MANILA, Philippines–Parts of the county will experience rain showers and cloudy skies due to a low pressure area and a northeast monsoon, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Friday.

At 2:00 a.m., the low pressure area was seen at 860 kilometers east of Southern Mindanao while the northeast monsoon was affecting Luzon and Visayas, Pagasa said.

“The eastern sections of Northern and Central Luzon and Southern Luzon will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered light rains. Visayas and Mindanao will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms becoming cloudy with widespread rains over Eastern Visayas, Northern and Eastern Mindanao which may trigger flash floods and landslides. The rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain,” Pagasa said.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the Northeast to North over Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough, it added.
