POLICE REVAMP
THE Mandaue City Police Office will undergo a major revamp which will affect 15 police officials.
Mandaue City Police Chief, Senior Supt. Noel Gillamac said the reshuffling would take effect on Jan. 16.
Gillamac said the revamp was done to make the MCPO operations more effective in fighting crimes in the city.
The revamp was also made to enhance the skills and abilities of the police officials.
“We made the reshuffling to enhance their skills and knowledge,” Gillamac said.
He said the move was merely putting the right people on the right job.
He cited as example Police Insp. Zosimo Jabas Jr., chief of Police Station 6, who will be assigned as the deputy of the operations branch.
Gillamac said Jabas, who is an expert in information technology could use his expertise in his new assignment.
Police Insp. Luis Alma will take over Jabas post.
Insp. Rex Lomente will assigned as Police Station 4 chief, Insp. Michael Anthony Bastes will take over his post as IDMB chief. /Correspondent Fe Marie D. Dumaboc
TEAM REQUEST
THE Traffic Enforcement Agency in Mandaue (TEAM) is asking the city government for at least 20 more personnel to man the traffic in the city.
Edwin Ermac, TEAM head, said the additional manpower would be needed especially with the opening of new establishments in the city.
Ermac said the present 180 strong TEAM wasn’t enough to man the city’s traffic because of these new establishments.
He said he planned to tap the barangay tanods to help them.
He said TEAM had already deputized 60 barangay tanods from 27 barangays.
The deputized tanods will undergo intensive training and will be allowed to issue citation tickets.
Ermac said the 20 personnel that would be hired would replace those who resigned or were dismissed from the traffic body. /Reporter Jucell Marie P. Cuyos
