Another summary execution in Digos
DIGOS CITY, Philippines—Unidentified gunmen struck here again while authorities were still trying to solve previous cases of what appeared to be summary executions.
The latest victim, who was gunned down early Thursday, was identified as John Philip Solomon, 31, a resident of Bangay Compound in Barangay (village) Zone 3.
Initial police reports indicated that Solomon was driving his Yamaha KMX motorcycle with plate number LS-6146 on the national highway in Barangay Aplaya when two unidentified persons riding tandem on another motorcycle suddenly appeared and fired at him several times.
On December 15, college professor Glennor Jawati was also shot, vigilante style, by unidentified men.
The incident, like other cases of killings here involving motorcycle-riding men, was blamed on the shadowy Davao Death Squad.
