Pantino advances to quarterfinals

CEBUANO NETTER Arthur Craig “Igi” Diaz Pantino started the year right as he marched into the quarterfinal round of the 12-under category of the 23rd Andrada Cup in Manila.

The top-seed dismissed Maverick Legaspi with an impressive 6-0, 6-0 victory in the second round and will next face Gabriel Tiamson today. He received a bye in the first round.

If the weather stays sunny today, Pantino will be put to a test with two other matches in the 14-under, where he will also vie for the title aside from the 12-under category.

The University of San Carlos (USC) student is seeded third in the 14-under. He also got a bye in the first round. He hopes to get past Jacob Co to also enter the final 8 in the category. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
