Cordova shooting

A 30-year-old woman was allegedly shot and wounded by her 19-year-old cousin inside her house in barangay Gabi, Cordova, north Cebu, last Friday morning.

Cecille Ongos was rushed to Carajay Hospital in Lapu-Lapu City for a gunshot wound on the left side of her body.

Police said Cecile was playing a card game with her cousin Ariel Ongos and another cousin when a heated argument ensued between Cecile and Ariel.

Ariel left Cecile’s house but came back and shot Cecile. An hour later, Ariel surrendered at the Marigondon police station and is now detained at the Cordova police precinct pending the filing of appropriate charges.

Tuburan motorbike accident

A 25-year-old man died in a vehicular accident on New Year’s Day in Tuburan, northwest Cebu.

Kevin delos Santos of barangay Poblacion was rushed to Tuburan District Hosital where he was declared by doctors already dead.

SPO1 Rommel Bancog of Tuburan police station  said Delos Santos  was on his way home from a party in Molobolo spring when he lost control of  his Kymco motorcycle while driving downhill.

Bancog said Delos Santos was injured in the forehead after  he was thrown off from his motorcycle when it fell on a ravine in barangay Molobolo.

Dead man found in balamban

A 21-year-old murder suspect was found dead in barangay Abucayan, Balamban, Cebu last New Year morning.

Jupil Catayas was found lying in a grassy area soaked in his blood.

Police said witnesses in the area heard three to four bursts of gunfire.

The victim’s body was brought to a funeral home in Balamban for autopsy.

Police recovered 3 empty shells and 2 slugs of a .357 Magnum revolver from the crime scene./rhea ruth rossel

Car crash in mandaue

Nine persons  were injured in a vehicular accident in CD Seno Street, barangay Guizo, Mandaue City on Saturday.

Some of the victims were brought to the Mandaue City Hospital and others to a private hospital in Cebu City.

Police said Dante Mendoza, 51,  of Banawa, Cebu City, was driving a Toyota Corolla coming from Mantawi Drive bound to barangay Guizo, with four passengers from barangay Paknaan.

Police said that a Ford vehicle coming from the opposite direction driven by Eric Paul Donaldo Cordonez swerved to the Toyota’s lane and hit the right side of the sedan at CD Seno Street.

Leyson, who had three passengers, was detained at the Subangdaku police precinct pending the filinfgof appropriate charges./JUCELL  CUYOS
