A 7-year-old girl drowned after she and her friends sneaked into a condominium building in Quezon City to go swimming in its pool on Saturday evening.

SPO1 Jaime Jimena of the Quezon City Police District identified the victim as Sean Micha Robles, a Grade 1 student from Tondo, Manila.

Jimena said that the security guard of One Beatriz Tower on Lawan Street in Project 3, Quezon City, told the police that he did not spot the girls as they entered the building.

FEATURED STORIES

Based on the police investigation, the girl was with three other friends aged 6 to 7 when they sneaked into the building and went up to the 18th floor where the pool is located.

An investigation showed that the girls’ parents were vendors at a nearby public market.

Jimena said they also learned that this was not the first time that the girls had gotten into the building to swim in the pool.

He added that when the victim’s companions saw her floating in the water, they sought the help of Jester Roman, 19, the son of a maintenance worker of the building, who failed to save her.
