Cruz died on the spot while Ernie was rushed to the Commonwealth Hospital and then transferred to the East Avenue Medical Center.

Their attacker was an unidentified man driving an Isuzu Highlander sports utility vehicle, whose plate number no one was able to get.

Police investigation revealed that the two victims, along with some friends, were on their way to a party onboard a Starex van owned and driven by Archie Wage.

But while traversing Mindanao Avenue, their van was suddenly hit on its right side by the SUV.

Enraged, the driver of the Highlander started hurling invectives at the van passengers then sped off.

The Starex gave chase and blocked the SUV’s path. Cruz and Ernie got out of their van and immediately confronted the other driver.
