Teacher dies in cockfight mishap
A 53-year-old teacher of Liboron Elementary School in Carcar town, southern Cebu died after he was hit by a gaff during a cockfight last Tuesday afternoon.
Faviano Macasero, a teacher for 20 years, was declared dead by doctors at the Carcar District Hospital.
Police said the teacher brought a game fowl in a cockfight that was part of the barangay’s fiesta celebration.

Police said Macasero was the one who released his game fowl inside the mini arena.

While watching the fight, Macasero was hit in the right leg by the gaff of the other game fowl.
People in the cockfight tied three face towels around Macasero’s leg to stop the bleeding.
