Habal-habal driver shot dead in Consolacion terminal

A 32-YEAR-OLD habal-habal (motorcycle-for-hire) driver was shot dead inside a terminal in barangay Cansaga, Consolacion town, northern Cebu.

Rico Diosco Jr. died on the spot from  a gunshot wound in the head.

Diosco brought a passenger to the terminal around 6 p.m. last Sunday.

He was shot by an  assailant who apparently waited for him in the terminal.

The gunman approached Diosco from behind, said police, then left the  terminal  on a motorcycle driven by another man.

Diosco was rushed to the Eversley Child’s Sanitarium Hospital in Mandaue City but attending doctors declared him dead.

PO3 Allen Garciano of Consolacion police said the terminal was well lighted  but no witness came forward to describe what happened.

Police said Diosco was a member of the group called the “Guardiasn.”

Diosco also figured in an argument with a member of the Bloods gang last week, according to the police. /CORRESPONDENT RHEA RUTH V. ROSELL
