7-year-old boy drowns in Tondo swimming pool

MANILA, Philippines — A 7-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool during a birthday party in Tondo, Manila on Tuesday afternoon.

In its initial investigation, the Manila Police District’s homicide division said the victim attended the birthday party of the son of his guardian at the Vitad Aquatic Center located along Vita Street in Tondo, Manila.

But while the party was ongoing, an unidentified individual reported that the victim was unconscious and motionless in the swimming pool.

The boy was brought to the Tondo Medical Center but was pronounced dead on arrival at 1:45 p.m.

Senior Master Sergeant Joseph Kabigting of MPD is currently investigating the incident. /ee
