Kidnapped American teenager Lunsmann freed Saturday night

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines—Kevin Eric Lunsmann, an American teenager who was kidnapped along with his mother Gerfa Yeatts Lunsmann and distant relative Romnick Jakaria, is freed on Saturday night in Lamitan City, Basilan.

Lieutenant Colonel Randolph Cabangbang, spokesperson of Western Mindanao Command confirmed the liberty of the young Lunsmann.  “He was released by his captors and is now with Lt. Colonel Russel Pompa, a commanding officer of the 32nd Infantry Battalion in Lamitan,” Cabangbang said.

Cabangbang didn’t mention how Lunsmann got free from his captors and no mention made as to ransom payment.

Another report coming from the police stated that Lunsmann was released by his captors around 9pm Saturday, December 10, particularly at Bulingan village which is about 7 kilometers away from the main town Lamitan.

Gerfa was freed by her captors on October 2 in Maluso town and on November 12, Jakaria was freed also in the same town.
