BAGUIO CITY, Philippines—Former Agrarian Reform Secretary Horacio “Boy” Morales Jr. remained in critical condition at a hospital here on Friday, a day after he suffered a heart attack at a golf tournament.

Morales was unconscious and was reportedly breathing with the aid of a ventilator at the intensive care unit of the Notre Dame de Chartes Hospital here.

“He remained unconscious since he was brought here from BGHMC (Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center),” said a hospital doctor, who asked for anonymity because he was not authorized to disclose information about the former Cabinet official.

The doctor said Morales suffered a myocardial infarction, the condition when the supply of blood to the heart is interrupted.

Morales, 68, was preparing to tee off in the 62nd Fil-Am invitational golf tournament here on Thursday when he had a seizure. He was rushed to the BGHMC but later transferred to the Notre Dame hospital.
