Alfredo Lim files COC, guns for Manila mayorship anew

Former Manila mayor Alfredo Lim  filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) on Wednesday, to again gun for the mayoralty of the country’s capital in the 2019 midterm elections.

Lim will be competing against Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno in the next year’s elections.

In April, Lim took his oath as member of the ruling party Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).

Lim was first elected as Manila mayor in 1992 and was reelected in 1995. In the 1998 elections, Lim ran for the presidency but lost to Estrada.

Lim won as senator in the 2004 elections but did not finish his term and decided to again run again as Manila mayor three years later.

Lim joined the Manila mayoral race post in the 2013 polls but again lost to Estrada.

In 2016, Lim again gunned for Manila mayorship but again lost to Estrada.

Incumbent Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada earlier announced his intention for reelection but he has yet to file his COC. /muf
