You could see him lately at the Senate; but no, actor Robin Padilla is not yet ready to answer questions if he is running for senator in 2019.

Padilla was again at the Senate on Wednesday, waiting to personally see opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes IV arrested afterPresident Rodrigo Duterte revoked the amnesty granted to him by the previous administration.

While he has a lot to say about Trillanes’ arrest, the actor suddenly turned coy when asked about his possible senatorial run next year.

“Malayo pa ang eleksyon (The election is still a long way off),” Padilla told reporters who interviewed him at the Senate parking lot.

When told that he was in the short list of the ruling PDP-Laban, the actor said: “Hindi po iyan [ang] topic natin kasi baka isipin ho ng tao sumasakay lang ako dito (That’s not our topic because people might think I am just riding on the issue).”

“Malayo pa ho iyan. Ang pag usapan ho natin yung reklamo sa kanya ng taumbayan (It’s a long way off. Let’s talk about the complaints against him by the people),” he added, referring to Trillanes.

The actor then went on his rant against Trillanes, saying that the people are already tired of coup d’ etat in the Philippines. And it is only now, under the Duterte administration, that justice,  could be achieved.

“Ano po yung justice na yun..? Bungkalin po natin ang kasaysayan , wala pa pong isang sundalo na na-prosecute dahil sa kudeta (What is that justice we are seeking? Let’s revisit history. No soldier has been prosecuted for participating in or leading a coup d’etat),” Padilla said. /ee
