DILG will spare no one as it probes Manila’s 27 ‘ghost barangays’ — Año
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) will investigate the reported 27 non-existent barangays in Manila City.
“Magko-conduct tayo ng investigation diyan sa mga report na yan,” Interior Acting Secretary Eduardo Año said during the Rehabinayon press briefing in Malacañang.
“Wala tayong sasantuhin dito. We just need the information, the data, and we will conduct the investigation,” Año added.

The Commission on Audit has found 27 “non-existent barangays” in Manila City that allegedly received real property tax shares amounting to P108.733 million.
The Manila City government has yet to issue a statement on the matter. /vvp
