Honeylet Avanceña: Breastfeeding is women empowerment

President Rodrigo Duterte’s common-law wife, Cielito “Honeylet” Avanceña, on Saturday made a pitch for breastfeeding, saying it was the biggest symbol of women empowerment.
“I’m sorry to the men, but it is only women who can breastfeed,” she said in a speech at a breastfeeding summit in Quezon City on Saturday.

She said, “whatever” men do, “they can even have sex transplant but they cannot” breastfeed.
Avanceña, a nurse, said Filipino mothers played key roles in nation-building. —Melvin Gascon
